Get certified in Kitchen Duct Cleaning
The Grease Hygiene Technician course consists of theory and practical activities and the delegates will be assessed on both.
It is based on the highly successful BESA TR/19 training which has seen more than 620 delegates receive training and qualification. It is adapted to pan-European requirements – largely by referring to the European Norm EN15780 ‘Ductwork. Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems’, which is expected to be revised in 2020/21 to include kitchen extract systems.
The theory and practical exercises include:-

Examination & Accreditation
EVHA will provide a Certificate of Competence for candidates who successfully pass the Final Assessment. This comprises a multiple choice examination, practical assessment & professional discussion.
The course content and examination is based on the EVHA Guide to Kitchen Extract Ductwork Cleaning, Maintenance and Fire Safety (2021). In turn this reflects the likely updating of the European Standard EN15780: ‘Ventilation for buildings – Ductwork — Cleanliness of ventilation systems’ to include consideration of kitchen extract system cleanliness.
The Association recognises that this is important to give the qualification real authority, especially to multi-site hospitality businesses, insurance companies and landlords. It is part of the Association’s mission to maintain and improve the reputation of its membership amongst both the duct cleaning trade and the customers and other stakeholders.
