Cyber Resilience Act – a joint industry initiative

Digital technologies are becoming an increasingly important part of modern building services, including the systems our industry works with every day.

Although cybersecurity is not a core area of EVHA's expertise, we recognise that it is becoming an important topic for manufacturers, building owners and operators of technical building systems.

For this reason, EVHA has joined several European industry organisations in helping raise awareness of a joint industry paper dedicated to the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

We believe the document provides useful background information and contributes to a broader discussion across the building services sector.

The paper, coordinated by eu.bac together with several European associations, aims to support manufacturers of Technical Building Systems (TBS) and Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) in understanding the practical implications of the Cyber Resilience Act.

Rather than providing legal advice, the publication promotes a common industry understanding of the regulation and encourages practical, risk-based approaches that can be applied throughout the lifecycle of connected building systems. It also highlights the importance of cooperation between manufacturers, system integrators, operators, maintenance providers, standards organisations and policymakers.
